Trump pulls back from the brink. Bolton suffers massive aneurysm, erectile dysfunction

Attacks on three sites were planned in response to the shooting down of a US unmanned drone this week.
Mr Trump said he had called off strikes after being told 150 people would die.
He tweeted: "10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone."
Beeb.

Unfortunately the latter part of our headline is fake news.

  1. Please. It's pretty simple what really happened...

And your whole headline is fake news, not just the last half.

    1. Go on then, what to your mind happened?

    2. Trump doesn't want a war, he wants a concession. He's not going to get one by caving to belligerants in the IRNC like Obama or McCain would.

  2. Please don’t call anything you disagree with ‘fake news’. The term will go the same way as the term ‘troll’.

If Drumpf is such a dove (as I briefly believed), how come he appointed three superhawks? Who ordered the called off strikes, if it wasn’t the Orange Moron? Doesn’t such an act of war require Congressional approval? If not, your democracy is even more shabby than previously assumed.

How and which concessions will be extracted? None, of course.

The ‘exceptional Nation’ is doing it again: Iraq Mark II. There was no need to pull out of The Deal, it was working. Now we’re sleepwalking into WW III. Well done, the Evil Empire!

  3. Why appoint three superhawks? So that during negotiations Trump can play "good cop". He prefers it to playing "bad cop", although he willing to play both rolls. Most Democrats can only play "good cop".

As for Congressional Approval, THAT is only needed if a foreign excursion needs sustaining for more than 30 days. And an airstrike barely requires "sustainment" for more than a few hours.

How and which concessions will be extracted? How about a cessation of Revolutionary Guard mining operations in the Gulf of Oman, for one?

I think the ballistic missiles are the target here, Netanyahoo's obsession.

Perhaps the US could pull back some of its bases in return for reducing the number of Iranian ICBMs.

W/o some give and take, Tehran will continue to be 'naughty'.

Like your 'good cop/bad cop' spiel though...

Ah, live and learn. Thanks for that!
